Microsoft is releasing Microsoft® Dynamics GP 2016, with the business management software expected to be available for download this Sunday (May 1).
Dynamics GP is a mid-marketing accounting, financial, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is used by small- and medium-sized businesses. SalesPad provides the premier add-ons for Dynamics GP, enhancing it with the empowering and more cost-effective solution SalesPad Desktop (formerly SalesPad GP).
The new features for Dynamics GP 2016’s release include a newly-designed HTML5 web client with full compatibility for browsers, such as Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and mobile platforms, such as Android and iOS. The release expands on last year’s release of Dynamics GP 2015 R2, and also offers OData services support and connecting with Microsoft Power BI, according to Microsoft.
“This is a powerful release because we believe it is going to transform the way people and businesses interact with and what they expect from their business solutions,” Microsoft Dynamics GP Marketing Manager Pam Misialek said.
Microsoft says Dynamics GP 2016 offers improved cloud support, workflow enhancements, and a user experience that’s more intuitive. Other GP highlights include:
- All-in-one document viewer for sales and inventory.
- Create new SmartLists using SmartList Designer.
- Do SmartList imports and exports between installations.
- Excel exports automatically format as numbers, instead of text.
- View Power BI reports on home page.
- Workflow reassignment notifications.
Dynamics GP 2016 has on premise and cloud options.
Originally called Great Plains, developed by Fargo, North Dakota-based Great Plains Software, and first released in 1993, GP was purchased in 2001 by Microsoft and was rebranded as Dynamics GP.
